My wife Jamin and I moved to Spirit Lake, IA and opened the doors to the Trautman Agency in August of 2008. Eighteen years later we continue to love not only the insurance and financial services business we operate, but also raising our four kids in a small Iowa town with LOTS of big town amenities.

Working for State Farm has allowed us to get involved in our community and meet many great people. Giving back to our community is a priority for Jamin, myself and our agency. I've spent time volunteering in many ways including:

  • Spirit Lake Community School District (Board member 2014-2023)

  • Spirit Lake Noon Kiwanis (Member since 2008 and past president)

  • Volunteer coach for athletic teams (too many to list)

  • Knights of Columbus

  • Assist in numerous other community projects and fundraisers

At the office I enjoy the daily conversations we get to have with our customers. Whether that involves auto, home or life insurance or any financial conversation, being a resource and understanding customer needs is why I go to work each day. While helping people with their insurance and financial needs we have qualified for numerous State Farm and industry accolades.
